So I am a little obsessed with make up. I love bright, bold eyeshadow. I always say I am going to be one of those old ladies that have the bright flashy eyeshadow. You gotta love them. So I hit a goldmine when I discovered MakeUpAlley.com. I stumbled upon it when I was looking for a review on a cosmetic product and it came up. Then I quickly discovered that they had a make up swap. Before you say "yuck, gross" yes it can be but that's up to you. I know we all have eyeshadow colors that just didn't work for us and it is just sitting in your make up bag/ drawer- well why not swap it for a item/ color that you would use. You can swap any beauty related product. Eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, hair styling tools/ products, you name it. Some is new also used 1x etc. No I've never swapped for used mascara, lipstick or eyeliner. New eyeliner yes but, not used. Some people are ok with that. You can do your own sanitizing.
Here's how it goes. You post the items that you have on their swaplist, take some pictures (not required) but, usually I like to see what I am getting. Then if someone would like to swap for one of your items they contact you through the sites email. You check their swap list to see if there is anything you would want. You exchange address info and usually the person with the less "tokens" ie: feedback ships first yes, that part sucks but, it is a trust thing and luckily I haven't got "swaplifted" but, some do. Which is very low, tacky to steal used make up. Not to scare you from trying I am sure 98% of the people are honest as with everything in life. There are a few bad apples in the bunch.
Take a look it is pretty cool. I am a MAC addict and I have gotten a lot of cool eyeshadow colors from there. It is also great becuase if you are debating buying a certain color/cream, lotion, foundation etc read the reviews and see what others say about it. Let me know if you try it and like it.
